I compared the outputs from processing a set of DTIs using older and newer versions of FiberTracking and FiberViewer.

Older version of tools (on Windows): In /conte_projects/CONTE_NEO/Tools/Fiber-Analysis-Tools-Windows FiberTracking2.3 and FiberViewer1.2.3

Newer version of tools (on Linux): /tools/bin_linux/FiberTracking and /tools/bin_linux/FiberViewer run on venus.ia.unc.edu on Sep 21.

Difference in the plots: The MD and lambda values from the older version of the tools are scaled up by a factor of 10000(=10^4), compared to the newer version.

There are some other minor differences, which are of interest for extracting values from the plots. 1. NB Point is after the line "X FA MD..." in the older version, and it is before the line "X nfibpts FA..." in the newer version. 2. There is an extra column "nfibpts" in the newer version. 3. Lambda3 is missing in the newer version. 4. The range of "X" is different for the two test outputs, the older one went from -17 to 14, while the newer one from -20 to 18.

Tools to be used for CONTE Neonate study: On Windows, tools from /conte_projects/CONTE_NEO/Tools/Fiber-Analysis-Tools-Windows. On Linux: Versions of the tools compiled from June 2007.

The differences between the versions was due to some changes made around Aug-Sep 2007.
