MacX11

The following is needed to work remotely with your Mac.

Setup:

• newest version of Xquartz
• run "defaults write org.macosforge.xquartz.X11 enable_iglx -bool true" in your terminal (only needs to be done once, as this changes the user's defaults)

Connection:

• Off-campus: start VPN connection and log into ares via "ssh -X <your-onyen>@ares.ia.unc.edu"
• On-campus or after login to ares: log into your workstation or server, e.g. "ssh -X <your-onyen>@pegasus.ia.unc.edu"
